The bad news: It is indeed true that you can expect less traffic in 2026 (source) even if you rank the same on for example Google as you did in early 2025.
The good news: Most businesses never really scratched more than the surface of SEO. In my own experience of observing thousands of websites through my SEO tool Morningscore 80% of them have not yet picked the low hanging fruits.
So if you are within those 80% the fact that traffic is down is not really that important to you. This really only impacts websites that were already “premium” in terms of SEO.
And In any case I give you concrete tactics here to deploy that will bring new fresh traffic:
More and better Money pages
Pages that answer peoples search for a product or service are so far still going strong on Google. These are probably the most important pages on your site. Examples: “rent Electric cargo bikes Amsterdam” and then you have a specific awesome page targeting that exact “money keyword”. It’s critical you create landing pages to address all the areas or products you offer and optimize them well.

Use AI to translate your page
If you serve several markets, translations can add a lot of new traffic. In our own case this has given a nice big boost of both traffic and sales
There are many solutions out there, but often a custom solution either vibe coded by a technical expert on your team or freelancer you trust is the go-to so you fully own the data yourself and get it tailored to your websites quirks (they are always there!). That’s what we did for ourselves.
Even if you are a local business in let’s say Germany, it can still be worth at least translating to English since there are a considerable amount of foreigners and tourists in most countries. Especially now that it’s much easier.
You can consider tools like weglot and easytranslate if your needs are small (and go custom like we did if this is critical to your business)

Reviews and opinion posts
This is a big one and big source of traffic still for many websites. For example our own website gets 30 visits per day for the “Best SEO tools” post. And I am planning a lot more review posts like that.
It can both be a specific product review but also “listicles” where you compare several products in a category.
And for opinion posts my own best example is “2028 AI post” which also generates quite some traffic from Both Google and ChatGPT

Reddit comments and posts
Reddit has become the go to for Google to answer searches where people are looking for advice and human take on things.
So Reddit has a lot of traffic for that and other reasons.
If you engage in those conversations you can get your website a piece of that traffic pie
How? See this Youtube guide I made:
Natural and human please! Let’s try to not leave the internet worse off.
Social media posts
Social media can also drive more traffic to your site. Both directly and by people Googling your brand after your caught their curiosity with your posts
Many people are afraid of linking to their website directly from their social media posts.
I recommend you do it least sometimes, since the advice that this hurts reach is not grounded in fact on a media like LinkedIn and I personally never observed a big drop (hard to measure) from linking to our website.
And it helps Google and other search engines understand the link between your website content (that you link to) and your social media profile, potentially boosting trust (EEAT) and rankings.

I hope these tips can help you reverse your traffic decline or boost your already accelerating rocket. To the moon 🚀
