Have any questions?

These are some of the commonly asked questions regarding our keyword search volume tool:

Keyword search volume is a metric that shows an estimate of how many searches a certain keyword gets per month on average. Because of this the search volume is a very important metric, when picking a keyword to optimize your page for.

If you pick a keyword, that no one searches for, then it is very unlikely that it will net you many visits even if you end up ranking at the top for the keyword. This is why it is always important to do a proper keyword analysis before optimizing for a certain keyword.

Our search volume data for keywords are localized. When you add a website to your Morningscore account you will be asked to select a country. This is the country you will se data for.

If you want to see the search volume of keywords in another country, you can always register the same website again under a new country. You can do this in the same account, by clicking on the button with you websites name next to a flag in the top left corner of the header.

There are many positives to targeting keywords with high search volumes, but there are also certain negatives to doing this. Often these keywords have a high degree of competition, which means they can be hard to get a high ranking page on.

It can therefore often be a good idea to target longer keywords, which include the original keyword. This is called a long-tail keyword. Long-tail keywords both help you rank for the original competitive keyword, while also helping you rank for a longer keyword. The long tail keyword might not be searched for as often, but it will also be a lot less competitive.

When a user search for a certain keyword, there will usually be a certain intent behind the search. This is very important to keep in mind when deciding a keyword to do SEO on. If a user searches for the specific model of Nike shoes, their intent is most likely to buy a pair of Nike shoes.

Let's say you discover that the model of Nike shoes, in the example above, has a high search volume, and decide to write a blog post about the shoes. It might be a popular keyword, and you might have written an amazing blog post, but it most likely won't perform well. This is because the people searching for the keyword, simply aren't interested in a blog post, which will ruin your otherwise great SEO work.

This also goes the other way. If a user wants to see an informational article, they won't like a page that instead tries to sell them something.

This is why it is very important for your SEO work to do a proper analysis of a keyword before targeting it.

The number of keywords you can track at a time depends on which Morningscore package you have. If you click on the "Add keywords" button under the "Keywords" tab in Morningscore, you can see the total amount of keywords you have at your disposal, and how many you have added.

Creating multiple pages on a popular keyword might seem like a good idea on paper, but it is not necessarily a great idea in practice. Google often try to avoid showing pages from the same website on the same search.

This can lead to your different pages cannibalising each other's SEO. Resulting in you seeing much less traffic than you would have if you had instead focused your SEO efforts on a wider variety of keywords.

If your competitors are in the same field as you, they can be a very valuable source of inspiration, when it comes to potential keywords that can fit with your site.

This can also be a good way to know which keywords are highly sought after, and which keywords are low-hanging fruit.

If you find a lucrative keyword, that none of your competitors have pages on, this could indicate that the competition on this keyword is very low, making it a low hanging fruit.

The data for keyword search volumes are updated regularly, though the frequency depends on whether the keywords are tracked or not. If a keyword is tracked, the data is updated every day. All of your non tracked keywords will have their data updated once a month.
