What is the value of SEO in 2026? A little real calculation

I made the public goal to double our (this websites) SEO traffic in 2026

Now I realize how much that actually is in money terms 😅💲

We spend $6k/month to get 1000 clicks from Google Ads

That is $6 per click

Meanwhile we get 6000 clicks from SEO per month.

Some clicks are not commercial though.

The 6000 clicks are worth more like $3 per click on average

$3 x 6000 clicks = $18k USD/mo in traffic value (We also measure this number in Morningscores seo check tool)

And my goal this year is to double our traffic to 12k

So yeah, I need to add $18 000 USD in traffic value per month

I believe it’s possible

When I finally did this calculation I realized for the 100th time just how great an investment SEO is.

18 000 USD is a lot of money for us as a small company (SEO tool provider, so we also gotta take our own medicine)

So I am very excited to work hard on this goal in 2026 together with my awesome team 🔥

And the alternative investments we could do make the case for SEO obivous:

$6 per click in Google Ads – where 40% are fraud (based on our Google Ads fraud detection tool) – meaning the price for a real click is closer to $10

It’s funny how I keep telling people SEO is a valuable investment and yet I always forget myself just how strong 🤯
