From Mario Kart to link building in Morningscore
At the home of psychologist Julie Aasbjerg Andersen, their family fun often involves the arcade game Mario Kart. She has always appreciated the classic games from Nintendo and is fond of gamified things. This is why she was drawn to Morningscore when she discovered that SEO, and especially link building can be fun.
„I was completely captured by the tool because it’s made like a game. It makes SEO fun, so the Nintendo at home had to take a break while I completed my first link missions in Morningscore,“ Julie laughs.
Julie Aasbjerg Andersen is the founder and owner of the psychologist practice Mentalt Overskud, located in Lyngby, Denmark. Julie is a highly experienced psychologist after many years of working with people in children and adults psychiatry. Her practice is based on the desire to match each client with a psychologist they connect with. There are as many as five psychologists to choose from – all very different from each other. Clients can easily switch from one to another if it doesn’t feel right. Mentalt Overskud believes the process should be tailored to the client, not the other way around.
Taking SEO into her own hands
Julie comes from a family of entrepreneurs full of ideas and projects. That’s why she knows all about managing a business which also means doing things you might not have tried before. She has outsourced many of the processes involved in running a business, even though she likes to be in control.
In the company’s first months, she hired a small, local agency to handle the work with SEO. A collaboration that gave some great results in optimizing the overall health of the company website. But she felt the need to take on the work with SEO internally. Therefore, she set out to learn how to do SEO most effectively, primarily through podcasts on the subject, to eventually be able to do it herself.
Julie heard about SEO tools through these podcasts and came across Morningscore when researching on Google.
„Morningscore just spoke to me from the beginning. I probably built 100 links in 14 days – it became rather addictive.“
Focused link-building strategy
Julie knew that link building is a crucial part of SEO strategy. In Morningscore, she used the link-building lists provided in the tool’s mission guides and used the learnings from the various podcasts she listened to. While she has built many links of varying value on behalf of her business, there are some links she is happier with than others.
„In my opinion, there’s a difference between the links that are easy to build and the ones that I’ve had to fight for. You’re automatically more proud of the struggly ones,“ Julie says.
In her link-building strategy, Julie Aasbjerg Andersen has actively reached out to relevant partners and written several articles for companies and institutions that can benefit her business. This approach is also part of her SEO strategy, as a link from relevant partners in the same industry can lead potential clients to Mentalt Overskud’s website.
Learning-by-doing
The first time Julie Aasbjerg Andersen opened Morningscore, she had no idea how it worked. She points out that it’s all about learning by doing. According to Julie, you take the time to get familiar with the different parts of the tool and go through the various guides available there.
„Morningscore is absolutely brilliant once you get the hang of it. Just sit down and nerd your way through it. Luckily it’s super intuitive! You’re in good hands with the instructions the tool gives you,“ Julie explains.
Next stop after link building: Keyword success
Next, Julie wants to continue her SEO routine and has decided to give the keyword tool more attention as the next big step in her SEO strategy. She has mastered link building and is ready to become a true master of the keyword tool as well.
Here at Morningscore, we wish Julie the best of luck on her journey toward her next milestone!
